O Lord, O Lord, O Lady of the House!

Direction, Concept, and Choreography: Robert Nuha
Text and Dramaturgy: Zana Hoxha
Assistant Director: Lavdie Idrizi
The performance “O Lord, O Lord, O Lady of the House!” is the latest creation by choreographer Robert Nuha, in collaboration with the artistic ensemble of Artpolis and the Noa Dance Theatre Co. troupe.

In this production, the themes of masculinity and the influence of patriarchy on our society are tackled in a humorous and provocative manner. Through a blend of body language and speech, the performance delves into aspects of masculinity and traditional Albanian practices, combining humor with contemporary dance and technology.

Using video projections and dynamic stage play, the performance highlights the confrontation between the past and the present, emphasizing the impact of old customs on today’s society. This innovative and comedic approach encourages reflection and a deeper appreciation of the role of masculinity and tradition in our lives.

This performance premiered during the 12th edition of the FemArt Festival on September 26, 2024, and had two reruns: on November 27 in Tuz and December 3 in Prishtina.

“In this dance-theatre piece, it feels as though all Albanian folklore has been explored and the actors have lived it. The language, the jokes, the exclamations, the booming voices, and even the breathing are all so natural”, Gili Hoxha on her review of “O Lord, O Lord, O Lady of the House”
